With elections on all levels taking place and coming up, there is no time like the present to continue to educate ourselves as we decide who will represent us and lead us in our pursuits of justice and equality. We have to understand the past to grasp the present and how we got here. This book identifies cycles and patterns in our history that, once identified, can be broken. Also, to clarify something I said in my last post- I AM recommending these books that I post. What I was also trying to point out was that I’m not recommending them with the intention of telling anyone how or what to think or believe, but only to encourage you to take in the information they have to offer and consider it. Follow up with your own research if you have questions. The important thing is to open your mind to new ideas and concepts you may not have considered or been aware of before. I’m still learning too. My hope is that we can reach a deeper understanding of these issues facing us by examining them from many perspectives so that we can have more informed, respectful, and productive conversations about how we can create positive change. Let’s keep getting better... no reason to stop.
