‏Jorge Olguín‏

Jorge Olguín is a Chilean director. After working on many amateur videos as a teenage fanboy, Olguín went on to make several short films at university which were shown at festivals. He made his feature directorial debut with Ángel negro (2000), a slasher film with a budget of 25 thousand dollars. This box-office success was credited as being the first Chilean horror film.

Olguín then directed Sangre Eterna (2002). With a budget of less than 300 thousand dollars, this unusual vampire film was also a success in Chile. His third feature Solos (2008) was an experimental zombie film and his fourth, Caleuche: El llamado del Mar (2012), a monster film loosely based on a Chilean legend.

In 2013, he worked on Whispers of the Forest (2014), a 3D horror film again inspired by Chilean mythology.
