‏Cassidy McMillan‏

Cassidy McMillan is an American actress in film, TV, theater and award-winning director, producer, writer. She began work in the acting industry while still in school in theater roles, TV, film, commercials. As a filmmaker, she is now directing/producing the highly anticipated feature length documentary, 'Bullies and Friends'. The groundbreaking film, which she also wrote, explores bullying, relational aggression and is being noted as an upcoming educational resource for schools as the film works to provide solutions to bullying to schools, teens, parents and communities. With her extensive work on the bullying issue for the film with educators, students, parents, and government leaders, she's a recognized speaker/expert on bullying prevention, and is a media commentator/contributor on the topic.

Cassidy has a passion for telling stories that can effect change, whether through her acting work, journalism, or filmmaking. While in high school, she was a reporter for her school's newspaper, where she excelled in focusing on stories of social causes, news and entertainment and won regional state awards for her journalism work. She was selected by the school's faculty and administration to be the Editor-in-Chief of the high school newspaper, where she continued to report on news stories that focused on human rights, animal rights, and social causes - topics she continues to shine a light on in her film work today.

In college, she pursued her passion for acting, and auditioned for and was selected into the Advanced Master Class Acting Program, where she had the opportunity to learn from Tony award-winning actors including Zoe Caldwell and distinguished professors. Along with her Communications-Journalism Degree, she also was accepted into and completed a Film Production Internship for the State's Film Commission Production Office, in which she learned production aspects and working behind the camera on TV/Film, as well as insight into television series and film distribution, public relations and sales aspects. She also continued acting work, where she worked on film productions for award-winning directors including James Cameron, Robert Zemeckis, and Tom Shadyac, of which she said that being on those film sets was like getting an additional film degree as to the knowledge she gained in watching the directors work, how film sets, stunts, explosions were coordinated, in addition to the work of acting, and the precision of acting with special effects. After receiving her degree, she started writing TV/film spec scripts, and branched out into producing.

In addition to her acting work, Cassidy is a producer at an independent film company which works to produce projects that focus on causes including bullying/teen suicide prevention; anti-discrimination and a cause close to her heart: animal rights, animal adoption/rescue. Cassidy encourages anyone who can, to rescue their new best friend by adopting a cat or dog from a shelter, "People will find their best friend - who happens to have paws."
