Elefthería "Eri" Komi was born in Heraklion, in Crete, in Greece, to Adamantia (Kokolaki) a bank employee and Georgios Komis, a pathologist doctor. She is Cretan from both parents descent. Komi began her artist career as a professional dancer at the Béjart Ballet Dance Company after studying ballet in Marseille. She had her first acting experiences in the school Rudra in Lausanne where she was noticed among the other dancers for her deep acting skills. Very shortly afterwards she followed performing arts studies in Paris, where she received training by cinema acting coaches such as Pascal Luneau and Andreas Voutsinas. Her first acting in cinema was in both English and French, in 8th Wonderland (2008), Vous êtes Ici (2007). In Greece she appeared as co-star in the role of Kyriakoula in Loafing and Camouflage: Sirens on the Rocks (2011), 45 Degrees (2013) and she did her breakthrough with her starring role of Mary in Luton (2013), which was awarded with best debut director price at the Festival of Athens Nychtes Premieras. Eleftheria is co-starring as Maria at the latest film of Tony Gatlif which will have its premiere in 2017.
