‏Kira Powell‏

Kira was born and raised in the inner city of Boston, Massachusetts, by an African American father and Ecuadorian mother. She grew up in a bilingual household speaking both English and Spanish. Following her family's lineage of musicians, Kira started taking piano lessons at the age of 6. Alongside attending the prestigious Boston Latin School for her high school education, she attended the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, where she received a full scholarship to train in Voice. As a classically trained musician, she was active in competing in state and regional piano competitions. She continued her vocal and piano training at Principia College, where she received a B.A. in Mass Communication and Music. As an actress, Kira has received training from the Joanne Baron/DW Brown Studio program, Stella Adler Academy of Acting, and Aquila/Morong Studios. She is also active in comedic improvisation and has studied at both The Groundlings and Improv Olympic. She has booked numerous national commercials, and has been the face of many campaigns including AT&T, Pringles, and Samsung to name a few. Kira landed a supporting role in the feature film, The Endless, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017 to rave reviews, and has been released in theaters nationwide April 2018. Kira's performance in "The Endless" has been highlighted by many critics, most notably by Matt Zoller Seitz.
