Bottrell is probably best known for playing the creepy "Lincoln Meyer" on season three of "Boston Legal." Known for his quirky characterizations, he has made memorable guest appearances on such shows as "Mad Men," "Justified," "True Blood," "NCIS," "Criminal Minds," "Castle," "iCarly," and "Days of Our Lives." A former off-Broadway actor & playwright, his critically-acclaimed one-man shows consistently play to sold out audiences in Los Angeles. Bottrell frequently performs in "Sit N Spin" (a popular spoken word show at the Comedy Central Stage) and was an original cast member of both the New York and L.A. companies of the long-running comedy revue, "Streep Tease: An Evening of Meryl Streep Monologues Performed by An All-Male Cast" in which he performed his acclaimed 6-minute version of the entire plot of "Out of Africa." Bottrell co-wrote the script for the 2001 Fox Searchlight release "Kingdom Come" starring Whoopi Goldberg, L.L. Cool J. and Jada Pinkett-Smith. His short film, Available Men" (which he wrote and directed) premiered at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival, before going on to screen at over 130 festivals and winning 17 "Best Short Film" awards. Bottrell writes monthly columns for Metrosource Magazine and Backstage and occasionally contributes to the Huffington Post. The City of Los Angeles proclaimed May 14, 2013, "David Dean Bottrell Day" in honor of contributions to the city's cultural life and his continued political activism and volunteer work with numerous not-for-profit and charitable organizations.
