‏Stephen Sachs‏

Stephen Sachs is a screenwriter and an award-winning theatre director and playwright. He wrote the teleplay for Sweet Nothing in My Ear (2008) for Hallmark Hall of Fame starring Marlee Matlin and Jeff Daniels.

He co-founded The Fountain Theatre in Los Angeles and serves as Co-Artistic Director.

As Director: Athol Fugard's Victory (US premiere) and Exits and Entrances (world premiere in LA, Off-Broadway at Primary Stages) Miss Julie:Freedom Summer (world premiere), Gilgamesh (world premiere), String of Pearls (West Coast Premiere), Hippolytos (J. Paul Getty Museum), The Road to Mecca (LA premiere), After the Fall, The Seagull, The Boys in the Band, and many others.

As playwright: Miss Julie:Freedom Summer, Gilgamesh, Open Window (Pasadena Playhouse), Central Avenue (PEN USA Literary Award Finalist, Garland Award for Best Play), Sweet Nothing in my Ear (PEN USA Literary Award Finalist), Mother's Day, The Golden Gate (Drama-Logue Award, Best Play), and The Baron in the Trees.

Miss Julie:Freedom Summer had its world premiere at the Fountain Theatre in Los Angeles and was performed at the Canadian Stage Company and Vancouver Playhouse.
