‏Carlos Armella‏

Winner of the Golden Lion for Best Short Film at the Venice Film Festival in 2008 for his film Tierra y Pan (Land and Bread). Born in Mexico City in 1978. Graduated from the London Film School in 2002. In 2005 he co-directed and edited the feature-length documentary Toro Negro (Black Bull), which was awarded at festivals like San Sebastian, Morelia and Havana among others. Also a director of TV spots and TV documentaries, Armella is shooting a feature film titled Las Voces (The Voices), in 2011/2012.

Other works: Common Ground: Under Construction Notes (co-director, editor/2006), a feature-length documentary following the journey of Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu during the shooting of his film Babel
