‏Matt Florio‏

Matt Florio is a filmmaker and actor, born and raised in South Florida. After graduating from Florida State University with a business degree, Matt found himself working in a variety of industries, yet unable to find his niche. However, he discovered a passion for writing. This eventually led to his pursuit of a career in comedy.

Matt studied improv and sketch comedy at the famed Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade before becoming a stand up comic and ultimately an actor. He has appeared in numerous commercials for major companies such as Fox Sports and Tide as well as television shows such as National Geographic's "Explorer" and A&E's "Watching the Detectives".

In 2010, Matt founded Comedy Flo Entertainment, a production company which produces comedy-based productions, and began creating his own projects. He has written, directed and produced a plethora of projects under the Comedy Flo label including short films, web series, commercials and sitcom pilots.

Matt is best known for his short films "Mama Needs a Ride" and "Sexcut" which received critical acclaim on the film festival circuit, winning numerous awards such as Best Comedy (SINY Film Festival), Best Comedy Short (Chain NYC Film Festival), Best Comedy (Flagler Film Festival) and Best in Show (On the Reel Film Festival).

Most recently, Matt created his 4th web series "Son of a..." which won Best Web Series (TOP Indie Film Awards) and Best Series Pilot (Global Film Festival Awards).
