CAEG is developing scripted series and producing movies; most recently delivering the made for TV movie, The Stepson, in July of 2010 to Lifetime. Additionally, CAEG will trigger 5 more made for television movies slated for production 2010/2011, the first of which is Another Man's Wife for Lifetime, set to begin principal photography in mid November 2010. In addition, Mr. Lancey developed and produced the well-regarded game show series in association with NBC and ION networks entitled ON the Cover. Under his guidance CAEG produced 130 episodes of On the Cover, the prime time strip game show hosted by Mark Walberg, which received fantastic reviews, strong ratings and continues to run on the ION network today. Mr. Lancey developed and produced through CAEG the Syfy network movie entitled, Bloodsuckers which was very well received and delivered stellar ratings for the network. Mr. Lancey continues to invest in the development of programming servicing the worldwide demand for network quality television series and movies.
Previous to Creative Arts Entertainment Group Mr. Lancey served as CEO of the worldwide media and syndication powerhouse Western International Syndication from 2000 forward, at which time he led the buyout of Western from the $12.7 billion (in worldwide billings) advertising giant, Initiative Media Worldwide which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Fortune 400 Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE: IPG).
Prior to the buyout Mr. Lancey had served as President of Western International Syndication from 1996 to 2000. Mr. Lancey led the company to record profits derived from Western's core business of worldwide syndication and production of television programming. Mr. Lancey joined the company as Vice President/National Sales Manager in 1989. During his tenure with the company, Mr. Lancey played an active role in every area of Western International Syndication's operation, financial management, programming, production, distribution, sales and marketing. He worked with many of the IPG advertisers to provide entertainment expertise in branded entertainment and brand integration for distribution on a worldwide basis. Mr. Lancey advised select IPG clients to include The Coca-Cola Company, General Motors, Intel, Home Depot, Disney and others within the blue chip IPG client base. In addition, Western's clients included affiliates from CBS, ABC, NBC and FOX as well as cable networks such as HBO, Showtime, VH-1, TNN, Syfy just to name a few.
Upon his appointment in 1996 to the position of President of WIS, Mr. Lancey positioned the company as a leading independent supplier of high quality programming in virtually all key genres. Notably Mr. Lancey was responsible for the on-going production, distribution and marketing success of television's most watched weekly music-comedy series the perennial It's Showtime at the Apollo (356 hours) as well as producing, financing and distributing other well regarded television series and specials to include the highly rated Cheaters, Conan: The Adventurer, VH-1's Behind the Music: Apollo, The Secret Files of J. Edgar Hoover, the award wining documentary Grid Iron Gangs which spawned the recent feature film under the same title starring the Rock, Magic Johnson's All-Star Slam n Jam, HBO's comedy hit series First & Ten for syndication, as well as weekly action hours such as Starhunter featuring Michael Pare' and The Immortal starring Lorenzo Lamas just to name a few.
