بیوگرافی / زندگینامه Per-Ingvar Tomren
A huge part of Per-Ingvar Tomren's childhood was spent in hospitals, and the summer of '95 was no exception. On his way to the cinema to watch "Dumb and Dumber", he crashed his wheelchair resulting in a broken and dislocated shoulder and a shattered upper leg. He would be stuck to a hospital bed for the entire summer, so to cheer him up his grandmother bought him a gift that would change his life: a VHS of Quentin Tarantino's 1992 masterpiece "Reservoir Dogs". Per-Ingvar fell totally in love with this film and would watch it up to eight times a day. As soon as the film finished, he would just rewind the cassette and watch it all over again. By the end of this summer Per-Ingvar had already worn out his first VHS copy of "Reservoir Dogs", and had to buy another one. Over the years he has bought over 60 copies of "Reservoir Dogs" on video, LaserDisc, DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, and it still remains his favorite film of all time. During the summer of 1995 "Pulp Fiction" was also released on video in Norway, and Quentin Tarantino became Per-Ingvar's idol. From his hospital bed, high on painkillers waiting for "Reservoir Dogs" to rewind yet again, Per-Ingvar decided he would become a filmmaker.
Per-Ingvar's first attempt at making a movie, was an extremely personal piece based on a lot of his own experiences. After spending several months working on the project, he realized that he didn't have the necessary skills, money, equipment, cast or crew to do this story justice. So he decided to make some other movies first as sort of a film education. He made a couple of short films entitled "Røyking Dreper" and "School of the Dead" while working at the local grade school. His first feature length movie was an anti-drug film named "Banzai Motherfucker!", were he was hired by child protective services to make this movie with a couple of kids.
His first feature that was shown in theaters was the Christmas slasher "O'Hellige Jul!" (2013), that he wrote and directed with fellow filmmaker, Magne Steinsvoll. In 2014 Per-Ingvar started to work on a ghost movie called "Angst".
