Anthony Lucero was born on November 1, 1967 in Los Angeles, California. His primary focus is writing but he also is known for his work as an actor, and more recently as a director. His stage performances include such works as Orphans, Long Days Journey Into Night, Junked and In the Moonlight Eddie. He has many films to his credit including Pump Up the Volume (Golden Space Needle Award at the Seattle FF, Audience Award at the Deauville FF), Silent Rain (Academy Award winning short) and Loved (Independent Spirit Award nominee for Best Film , Grand Prix spécial Deauville nominee). In 2006 Anthony co-founded the circus outreach organization, Circus Remedy (www.circusremedy.org). To date, Circus Remedy has made over fifty visits to ailing children worldwide and has collaborated with Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Amma's hospitals and orphanages in Kerala, India, Afghan Mini Mobile Circus in Kabul, Afghanistan, countless orphanages in Tanzania and South Africa, the Jewish and Arab Galilee Youth Circus in Israel, as well as children's hospitals throughout North America. In 2009 Anthony adapted Richard Brautigan's, A Confederate General from Big Sur, for Benicio Del Toro. He was subsequently asked to direct a documentary on Brautigan, Here Is Something Beautiful (etc., which is nearing completion. He has also been directing a longer reaching documentary, Tomás the Red Haired Angel, on the great Czech clown, Tomás Kubínek. In 2015, Anthony began pre-production on his first feature, The Clown, which he also wrote.As a writer, Anthony is widely published in the Small Press world. His poems have appeared in over 100 magazines and reviews. Editor and archivist Geof Huth (dbqp) called his writing, "Incomparable." He has three titles due out in 2015: dear little missy, The Clown and The Living Party .
