‏K.L. Young‏

K.L. Young was born Kelly Laurence Amiotte, in Seattle WA. He grew up in Bellingham, WA and then moved to Los Angeles in 1988 to try to sell his first novel. While there, he discovered screenwriting and was mentored by writer Dick Morgan.

Returning to Washington State in 1990, he partnered up with filmmaker Eric Morgret on the Nightshade music videos, and they formed Maelstrom Productions.

Maelstrom Productions filmed and released several short films, documentaries and commercials, including the Star Wars Episode I documentary "The Big Line"; "Nocturne"; "The Thing on the Doorstep"; and "The Lovecraft" before finally filming their first feature film, "H.P. Lovecraft's Strange Aeons: The Thing on the Doorstep".

During this time, K.L. also started a horror comic magazine called "Planet Lovecraft" which ran for four issues, and was then replaced with "Strange Aeons", which has been published quarterly since 2010.
