Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada actor Stanley Alto, born John Stanley Alto (Stan) in Ottawa, Ontario, spent his early life in Alberta and settled in Thunder Bay, Ontario with his mother after the separation of his parents. His mother, Lillian Alto (nee Jack), was an Ojibway from the Whitefish Bay First Nation later changed to the Naotkamegwanning First Nation. His father had the same name but went by Jack Alto having a father of the same name, was an Ojibway from the Wabigoon First Nation.

He has had a sporadic acting career. Beginning at age 13 years old with a role on the Young Offenders Act. Discovered by a Harbour Boys Youth Group (Thunder Bay Boys and Girls Club) counselor he worked throughout the summer for his first paid role.

Athletics and school limited acting options through his teen years. As well as a brief football career in the arena football leagues. He returned to acting with a starring role in a National Film Board movie about Restorative Justice Circles - Talking Together and later a stage production of "Antony and Cleopatra"

Theatre in Thunder Bay had called again 10 years later with the founders of Frankly Scarlet Productions. The stage performance of "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" re-ignited his love of acting starring in the role of "Chief Bromden".

Several commercials with Thunder Bay Television and a short film with Rear View Mirror Productions entitled "The Scratch". Dianne Brothers cast him as Officer McCabe in the comedy.

Auditioned and won the role of a swashbuckling Alien in the Webseries 'Space Hock: A Sci-Fi Comedy'. The role of "Murgatroy" was an adventure in makeup, prosthetic and space.

Worked in a College Student film by Sari Kuronen called 'Dress Up'. Played Robbie Miller the antagonist in a film about gambling losses and retribution.

Wasn't chosen for a speaking role in the Adam Garnet Jones film 'Firesong'. Accepted a part as an Extra to be involved in what he called a very important story for everyone to hear.

There are several projects in post-production for 2016
