بیوگرافی / زندگینامه William Sachs
Writer, director and producer William Sachs has made a handful of enjoyable movies throughout the years. Sachs studied film at the London Film School. William has also studied acting with Michael Gough in London, with various teachers at the Actor's Studio in New York City, and with Chris O'Brien at the Charles Conrad Studio in Los Angeles. He made his solo feature debut with the obscure Vietnam war drama There Is No 13 (1974). Secrets of the Gods (1976) and The Force Beyond (1978) are a couple of entertaining speculative UFO documentaries, The Incredible Melting Man (1977) offers a nice blend of gory horror and goofy humor, and Van Nuys Blvd. (1979) rates highly as a real fun 'n' funky blast. Galaxina (1980) remains William's most popular picture to date; it's an amusingly silly sci-fi spoof, starring ill-fated "Playboy" Playmate Dorothy Stratten as the titular alluring robot. Sachs followed "Galaxina" with the raucous teen sex comedy, Hot Chili (1985), the gritty urban drama Judgement (1992), the nifty "Die Hard" clone, The Last Hour (1991) and the charming family fantasy romp Spooky House (2002). William handled behind-the-scenes film doctor patch-up chores for Joe (1970), Exterminator 2 (1984), Servants of Twilight (1991) and Leprechaun (1993). Sachs' other work includes TV commercials, music videos, and public service announcements. He's a member of the Director's Guild Creative Rights Committee and has worked as a screen credits arbitrator for the Writer's Guild. Moreover, William Sachs has appeared as a guest lecturer at the UCLA Film School, Cal State Northridge, and the California Institute of the Arts. He lives in Granada Hills, California with his wife, Margaret Sachs. His son Brandon Sachs works at Red Five Studios, where he does visual effects as well as shoots and edits videos.
