بیوگرافی / زندگینامه William Martens
An Emmy nominated and Telly winning filmmaker, Bill's colorful career in film and television has seen him writing, producing, and/or directing a diverse range of programming; from "Shifting Gears with Aaron Kaufman," to multiple Explorers and Specials for National Geographic, Discovery Channel's "Shark Week," not to mention their top rated series "Fast N' Loud," as well as Spike TV's action-packed series "Deadliest Warrior." For Discovery's "Shark Week," Bill and his special effects team designed and constructed two full size animatronic sharks that brought a frightening, raw, and chillingly real quality to the dramatic recreations. Bill's Emmy nomination came in 2010 for National Geographic's highest rated episode ever of Undercover History, "The Skyjacker That Got Away." Apart from his 25 years in entertainment, Bill founded and was CEO of three successful businesses in other industries as varied as computer software, toys, and cosmetics. In 2007, Bill was selected to the documentary filmmaker chair for a top secret Congressionally funded independent advisory panel for unmanned space launch operations. SLOT (Space Launch Optimization Team) delivered its findings and recommendations to United Launch Alliance and NASA in 2008. Bill also donates his time as a filmmaker in hazard zones around the world for animal rights and animal welfare causes (braving post-earthquake Haiti and multiple excursions into the Nuclear Exclusion Zone in Japan), is a member of the Producers Guild of America, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and is a NAUI certified open water scuba diver.
