Alejandro Enrique performed his first role on the Venezuelan silver screen in 1989, as Freddy Avellaneda, in the internationally known soap opera "Abigail". After that he was selected to be part of the cast of another hit production for Radio Caracas Television Network, "Rubi" in 1989, where he played "Reynaldo Iturralde", sharing the screen with well known television stars. A little before ending the shooting of "Rubi", Arquimedes Rivero offered Alejandro to be part of the Venevision Network where he landed his first principal role in the soap opera, "Maribel", playing Oswaldo Zapata. During this period of time, he also co-starred a variety of shows for the same network. Shows like "Maite", "Sabado Sensacional", "Horangel y los Doce del Signo" and the worldwide known "Miss Venezuela". All of this opened a wider and more interesting view on his artistic career.
Once finished his period of contract with Venevision in 1991, Alejandro decided to expand his horizons and take superior studies in acting. He left Venezuela to go to New York and joined several workshops for acting, dance, and singing lessons. After two and a half years of new experiences, and after participating in two off/off-Broadway shows, "The Cute Boys", & "The Thin Line", Alejandro returned to Venezuela to perform the controversial role of "Juan Hundred" in the 1993 internationally known soap opera "Sirena", produced by Marte TV, and transmitted by Venevision International. Once more interviews, guest stars, and invitations to television shows happened. Along this time, he performed in front of thousands of people in many different cities inside the country, and was invited by different networks as a special guest, such as "Telemetro Panama" and "Teletica Canal 5" of Costa Rica . Soon after he received a letter from the "Alvi Foundation", which honors and recognizes model citizens who are outstanding in their work, awarding him with the "Best Actor' recognition in 1994.
Alejandro auditioned to participate in what it would be "The First Venezuelan Theater Festival in New York City", and was chosen among hundreds of actors to interpret different characters on two Venezuelan Clasic shows such as "Geranio" and "La Recta Final", getting standing ovation at the end of every performance.
He traveled to Philadelphia to meet with the creators of the famous long running off-Broadway show "Tony and Tina's Wedding", by Artificial Intelligence, and two weeks afterwards he was part of the main cast as "Dominick Fabrizzi".
In search of international recognition, the young actor decided to contact Mr. Luis Llosa, producer and director of Hollywood films such as "Anaconda", "Sniper" and "The Specialist". Mr. Llosa is the President and Executive Producer of Iguana Productions in Perú. In a short period of time he once again met with fame interpreting the controversial role of "Leonardo" in Iguana's hit production "Torbellino".
Soon enough after finishing the project he returned to Venezuela, where writer/producer Carlos Roa, offered him the lead roles in two of his new theater plays. Alejandro participated as the lead in the Venezuelan National tour for the comedy "Casos y Cosas", and the drama "No Me Mandes Rosas".
Being recognized for his impeccable performance in "Torbellino", Alejandro received a call from "Panamericana" Television Network" to star as the lead role, "Ruben", in their newest production "Gabriela". Once more he returned to Peru, successfully completed another one of his projects, and once again he was the face on every newsstand in the nation as every reporter closely followed him. In addition He received an invitation to participate as "Judge" for the "Miss World Peru 1998" next to the Bond Girl, Ruddy Rodriguez; Mr. Universe, Sandro Finoglio; and Gabriel Travesani, from the family Channel, among other celebrities of the Latin American International Market.
After finalizing this project, Alejandro arrived to Los Angeles to meet with two of the top talent representation agencies, getting a very supportive and positive response from the two of them.
After signing contracts Delgado started auditions in Hollywood, landing the role of "Harold Lloyd" in the black and white comedy feature film directed by Alex Canawati, "Birth Of Babylon", sharing the screen with Maria Conchita Alonso in the role of "Lupe Velez", and soon after, meeting and interviewing with top casting directors, such as Marnie Saitta from CBS "The Young and The Restless", and Christy Dooley from CBS "The Bold and The Beautiful", landing his first role in the North American Market of Soap Operas in "The Bold and the Beautiful", playing Martin Escobosa.
In December 2000 Delgado, Enrique Sapene, and Director Oliver Schneckenbühl (from Cinefaktur,Germany http://www.cinefaktur.de/engl.html) joined forces to produce a twenty-minute short film called "Old Friends". The film is now being edited and will be sent to major Film Festivals all over the nation and overseas,including the "Berlin Film Festival", among others, and aiming for the best.
