Ahku was raised on the grounds of San Quentin State Prison. Along with his older sisters, his mother and step father (a lieutenant of the prison), he had his life story filmed in a hybrid documentary, "Know What I'm Saying" directed by Rick Parrott, Trojan Vision, and co-written by Ahku. This film is a documentation of Ahku's life as an entertainer.
Ahku's "aha moment" came in 2003, when cast as a gang member alongside actor, Anthony Mackie in Spike Lee's film "Sucker Free City."
Truly inspired by rapper/actor Tupac Shakur who he met while they were in high school and one of his high school teachers. Ahku was determined to be one who stood out from the crowd. With that being said Ahku feels his biggest accomplishments came when he invited his high school teacher to the set of one of the Television shows he worked on. As well as his mother being able to see him reach some of his goals before she passed.
Ahku is driven to make his mark in the entertainment industry.
